Module 1: Hydration, Water and Hydrated Foods

The solution to pollution is dilution and thatâs what this weekâs focus will be all about. Together we will work to fully understand how to switch on your own natural thirst and break down dehydration alert at cellular level. We will explore diuretics and alternatives.
Is your stomach struggling to churn all the food round and stealing water from your body to do so? We will discover how to send a hydrated message to our cells through the foods we eat and discover new and exciting ways to do this.
Module 2: Grains, Gluten, Sugar and Salt

Move over gluten and grains and hello pseudograins. Itâs time to discover what grains and gluten do to your body and explore really exciting alternatives to tickle your taste buds and add variety into your diet. Remember, variety is the spice of lifeâŚyour delicious life.
It takes three feet of sugar cane to produce one teaspoon of sugar! Imagine chewing your way through that bad boy. Sugar and salt are not bad for us when they are in the purest form (the one given to us in nature) and in the quantity nature intended. Itâs what we have done to them that makes them unhealthy for our bodies. Time to explore the different varieties of salt and how to use salt therapeutically as part of your healing plan. Weâll also look at other ways of sweetening foods than just sugar – youâll discover how you really can have your cake and eat it!!
Module 3: Dairy, Fats and Oils

Humans are the only mammals to carry on drinking breast milk after weaning. Why is this? We look at the whole subject and what dairy does to our bodies at a cellular level and ask: is it time to be weaned? Time to get excited about delicious and nutritious plant-based alternatives to dairy.
Now itâs time to look at fats that heal and fats that kill. Thereâs a reason some fats are called âessentialâ and some are called âdamagedâ and this week youâll be learning all about them. Learn how to supplement your diet with these delicious oils and fats and discover a number of delicious ways to introduce them into your daily life.
Module 4: Purposeful Supplementation and Superfoods

Are you making very expensive poo or peeing out money? You could be, if you donât fully understand the world of supplementation. Learn how to choose supplementation in a purposeful manner to enable your body to make use of the nutrients and shine with vitality.
Inject your life with va va voom with these super guysâŚsuperfoods! Some foods are nicknamed superfoods for good reason and we will explore some of the main ones I keep in my tool kit. You will discover the world of adaptogens and look at ways you can introduce them into your delicious life.
Module 5: Illness and Dis-ease and Routes of Elimination

Why do some people get unwell after sitting next to Mr Snotty and Mrs Sneezy on the bus and others donât? Is it bad luck? Itâs time to look at a new way of health and explore soil theory. You are as healthy as your internal soil, so letâs look at ways of cleaning up this soil. We will be looking deeper at the routes of elimination and filling your toolkit with tools to carry with you on your healing journey.
Itâs now time to introduce you to your bodyâs main routes of elimination and what we can do to open these up and help our body release the toxins. This will also help to prepare your body to go deeper in the healing journey and support your liver to absorb the delicious oils and fats.
Module 6: You Are What You Think and We Are Nature

Deepak Chopra says: âevery cell in your body is eavesdropping on your thoughtsâ. Letâs explore the conscious and unconscious mind and start to use our mind to help us heal.
We are part of nature and we are animals. As animals and living beings, we are influenced by the natural cycles around us. This week, we explore seasonal influences and moon cycles and how we can use this knowledge to help us cleanse and grow.Â
In just one weekend you will discover – and put into action – what you need for a healthy lifestyle. This will include:

Who will be my guide on this fantastic healing journey?

Salena Walker: I am a fully qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist, living on ten acres of land with my partner, with whom I built a wooden cabin at the edge of our woodland. This is our permanent home and the centre of our natural lifestyle. My mission in life is to connect others to their internal and external environment, focusing on what they drink, eat, think – and even excrete! I feel as if I have been studying naturopathy, nutrition and herbalism since a young child, as I explored the differences I could make through my food choices and discovered the stillness of nature amongst the beautiful Welsh landscape in the Valleys of South Wales, where I grew up.
My real deep dive into the world of naturopathy, nutrition and herbalism began back in 2008. I started to become very tired. In fact, the word âtiredâ does not even begin to describe how I felt. Neither myself, nor my doctor, had any idea of what was wrong. I was finally diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Pernicious Anaemia. I believed the diagnosis, but was too stubborn to accept the prognosis. And so my journey began⌠I started my studies with the intention of learning, but eventually found the way to healing my autoimmune dis-ease and ended up becoming a wellness practitioner, teacher, writer and a motivational speaker!
I am passionate about living the naturopathic way, at one with nature. My hope is that it will also inspire part of your own transformational journey. My aim is to empower people with the tools they need for their own healing journey.

Youâll receive a welcome email with details about the course and a welcome email with your login details ready to access your Nourish &Thrive online programme when you return from the face to face element of the course on Sunday the 16th of June.  Please check your spam folder in case it goes in there!Â
- Is this course only available in person?
This course is also available online throughout the year so make sure you sign up Salena Walker’s email address to keep updated about the online course.Â
- What happens if I canât attend the live teaching weekend?
In addition the face to face sessions you also have access to the full online course so if you can’t attend the course you can complete it online.Â
- Can I still take part if I have certain medical conditions?
