Time is a big one for all of us these days. It seems as if the mantra of the human race has become “I haven’t got enough time!”. Years ago, we used to spend over a third of our money on food and spend hours making our dinner. Today, this picture looks very different. But just because you feel you have a shortage of time doesn’t mean you have to eat unhealthily. By the time you have picked up the takeaway menu, then ordered your food, and it has finally been delivered to your door, you could have created a delicious and nutritious meal and cleaned up after yourself. 

Let me introduce you to the idea of grab-it meals!


Buy the pots and bags, then grab handfuls and put them on a plate…it’s that simple! Where possible, buy organic – and remember to wash out all the pots and recycle them. 

These are three simple grab-it meal suggestions for you to explore…

Tofu Grab it-Meal

  • One packet of marinated tofu
  • One bag of organic salad
  • One scooped out avocado
  • Packet of roasted seeds sprinkled on top
  • Drizzle with olive oil, salt and some cider vinegar

Hummus Grab-it Meal

  • One tub of hummus
  • One bag of salad
  • One scooped out avocado
  • Packet of roasted seeds sprinkled on top
  • One packet of olives

For a quick easy cooked suggestion, buy a bag of cashew nuts and a bag of stir fry vegetables, then and stir fry them together in a wok with some soy sauce and coconut oil.

There you have it… It is that simple. It would be great to store these ideas on your phone so that, at the end of a busy day, you can go to the shops and not be tempted by other things. All you need to do is just look at the list, buy the ingredients, and go.
